Upper Control Arm & Ball Joint: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE: Upper shock nut must be replaced or use MOPAR Lock 'N Seal or Loctite 242 on existing nut.
  1. Position control arm pivot bar on mounting bracket. Install bolts and temporarily tighten bolts to 100 ft. lbs. (136 N.m). Insert ball joint stud into steering knuckle and tighten ball joint nut to specification. Install new cotter pin. Install shock absorber.
  2. Remove hydraulic jack. Attach brake hose bracket to upper control arm. Tighten upper control arm mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install wheel and tire assembly. Remove support and lower vehicle. With vehicle on floor, check and adjust ride height and front end alignment.
