CV Axle Shaft: Removal

Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Remove skid plate (if equipped). Remove cotter pin, nut lock and spring washer from axle shaft. Remove hub nut and hub washer. Remove brake caliper, rotor and ABS wheel speed sensor (if equipped). Remove hub and bearing assembly bolts from steering knuckle. Remove hub and bearing assembly from CV axle shaft and steering knuckle. Support CV axle shaft at joint housings. Position 2 pry bars behind inner CV joint housing and pry outward to disengage CV joint from front axle assembly. Remove CV axle shaft from vehicle.
