HVAC Housing: Installation

- Position the HVAC housing to the dash panel. Be certain that the evaporator condensate drain tube and the housing mounting studs are inserted into their correct mounting holes.
- Install the two bolts that secure the HVAC housing to the dash panel in the passenger compartment. Tighten the bolts to 7 N.m (60 in. lbs.).
- Install the instrument panel (Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY ).
- Install the four nuts that secure the HVAC housing to the dash panel in the engine compartment. Tighten the nuts to 7 N.m (60 in. lbs.).
- Unplug or remove the tape from the heater core tubes. Connect the heater hoses to the heater core tubes and fill the engine cooling system (Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - REFILLING COOLING SYSTEM ).
- Unplug or remove the tape from the accumulator refrigerant line fitting and the evaporator outlet tube. Install a new O-ring seal and connect the accumulator to the evaporator outlet tube (Refer to ACCUMULATOR ).
- Unplug or remove the tape from the liquid line fitting and the evaporator inlet tube. Install a new o-ring seal and connect the liquid line to the evaporator inlet tube (Refer to LIQUID LINE ).
- Reconnect the negative battery cable.
- Evacuate the refrigerant system (Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - REFRIGERANT SYSTEM EVACUATE ).
- Charge the refrigerant system (Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CHARGE ).
- Refill the cooling system (Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - REFILLING COOLING SYSTEM ).
