Evaporator Temperature Sensor: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the blower motor from the HVAC housing (Refer to BLOWER MOTOR ).
  3. Remove the blower motor resistor block from the HVAC housing (Refer to REMOVAL  ).
  4. Disconnect the wiring connector from the evaporator temperature sensor.
  5. Using a flat blade pry tool, pull back on the locking tab. Turn the access plate clockwise one-quarter turn and pushed the access plate inside the A/C housing ( Fig 2 ), then orientated the plate in such a way that it can be removed from the HVAC housing.

    NOTE: To remove the sensor probe, look through the access plate hole in the HVAC housing and reach up through blower motor opening.
  6. Remove the evaporator temperature sensor probe from the A/C evaporator ( Fig 3 ).
