Gear Shift Lever: Removal

- Remove the kneeblocker. (Refer to STEERING COLUMN OPENING COVER ).
- Loosen the steering column bolts enough to lower the column without removing.
- Remove the upper and lower shrouds.
- Disconnect over drive switch wiring.
- Disconnect the shift cable from the pin and unsnap the cable adjusting clip.
- Remove the screws retaining the gear shift lever. ( Fig 1 )
- Remove the blocker pin from the inhibit link slot ( Figure ).
- Remove the gear shift lever from the steering column assembly.
