Gear Shift Lever: Installation

  1. Install the lever assembly using care to install the pin in the blocker to inhibit slot (Fig 1 ) and install the mounting screws and tighten to 12 N.m (105 in. lbs.).

  2. Install the shift lever screws. Tighten the screws to 12 N.m (105 In. Lbs).
  3. Connect the shift cable to the pin ensuring the shift lever is in PARK and snap the shift cable adjustment clip in place.
  4. Connect over drive switch wiring.
  5. Install the upper and lower shrouds.
  6. Tighten the steering column mounting nuts to 28 N.m (250 In. Lbs).
  7. Install the knee blocker. (Refer to STEERING COLUMN OPENING COVER ).
