Timing Belt / Chain Cover(S): Installation

- Clean timing chain cover and block surface. Inspect cover gasket and replace as necessary.
- Install cover and gasket. Tighten fasteners in sequence as shown in (Figure) to 54 N.m (40 ft. lbs.).
- Install the A/C compressor (Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR ).
- Install the generator (Refer to GENERATOR ).
- Install crankshaft damper (Refer to ENGINE/ENGINE BLOCK/VIBRATION DAMPER-INSTALLATION ).
- Install accessory drive belt tensioner assembly (Refer to BELT TENSIONERS ).
- Install radiator lower hose.
- Install both heater hoses.
- Install radiator shroud and viscous fan drive assembly .
- Fill cooling system (Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE-REFILLING COOLING SYSTEM 4.7L ).
- Connect the battery negative cable.
