Intake Manifold: Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The aluminum intake manifold (Fig 1 ) is a single plane design with equal length runners. This manifold uses a separate plenum pan and gasket, therefore the plenum gasket is serviceable. It also uses separate flange gaskets and front and rear cross-over gaskets. Extreme care must be used when sealing the gaskets to ensure that excess sealant does not enter the intake runners causing a restriction.
