Diagnosis And Testing-Headlamp Switch

ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, REFER TO RESTRAINTS BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.
- Remove the headlamp switch. (Refer to REMOVAL ).
- Using an ohmmeter, test for continuity between the terminals of the switch as shown in the Headlamp Switch Continuity table (Fig 2 ).
- If test results are not obtained as shown in the Headlamp Switch Continuity table, replace the headlamp switch.
