Engine To Plenum-5.9L Engine

  1. Position the engine-to-body ground strap(s) in the engine compartment.
  2. Position the right engine-to-body ground strap eyelet terminal over the inboard rear valve cover stud of the right cylinder head.
  3. Install the nut and washer that secures the right engine-to-body ground strap eyelet terminal to the inboard rear valve cover stud of the right cylinder head. Tighten the nut to 2.8 N.m (25 in. lbs.).
  4. Install the screw that secures the right engine-to-body ground strap eyelet terminal to the rear of the right cylinder head. Tighten the screw to 10.2 N.m (90 in. lbs.).
  5. Install the screw that secures the left engine-to-body ground strap eyelet terminal to the rear of the left cylinder head. Tighten the screw to 10.2 N.m (90 in. lbs.).
  6. Position the right engine-to-body ground strap eyelet over the inboard weld stud on the right side of the lower plenum panel.
  7. Install the nut and washer that secures the right engine-to-body ground strap eyelet to the inboard weld stud on the right side of the lower plenum panel. Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 in. lbs.).
  8. Install the nut and washer that secures the left engine-to-body ground strap eyelet to the weld stud on the left side of the lower plenum panel. Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 in. lbs.).
  9. Connect the battery negative battery cable.
