Axle Shafts: Removal

  1. Place transmission in neutral.
  2. Raise and support vehicle.
  3. Remove half shaft from vehicle.
  4. Remove skid plate, if equipped.
  5. Clean axle seal area.
  6. Remove snap ring from the axle shaft.
  7. Remove axle with Remove 8420A and Slide Hammer C-3752 (Fig 1 ).
