Starter Solenoid

This test can only be performed with starter motor removed from vehicle.

Remove starter motor from vehicle. See STARTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
Disconnect wire from solenoid field coil terminal.
Check for continuity between solenoid terminal and solenoid field coil terminal with continuity tester. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . There should be continuity. If OK, go to next step. If not OK, replace faulty starter motor assembly.

Check for continuity between solenoid terminal and solenoid case. See Fig 3 and Fig 4 . There should be continuity. If not OK, replace faulty starter motor assembly.
