Installation (Rear)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the brake pads (if removed). See DISC BRAKE SHOES .
  2. Lubricate anti-rattle clips for the disc brake pads. See Fig 1.
  3. Install the caliper to the brake caliper adapter.
  4. Coat the caliper mounting slide pin bolts with silicone grease. Install and tighten the bolts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install the brake hose banjo bolt (if removed).
    6. CAUTION: Verify brake hose is not twisted or kinked before tightening fitting bolt.
  6. Install the brake hose to the caliper with new seal washers and tighten fitting bolt.
  7. Remove the prop rod from the vehicle.
  8. Bleed the brake system. See BRAKE SYSTEM BLEEDING  under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM.
  9. Install the wheel and tire assemblies. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  10. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
  11. Verify a firm pedal before moving the vehicle.
