Stop Lamp Switch

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The plunger stop lamp switch is mounted on a bracket attached to the brake pedal support. The brake lamp switch is part of brake lamp, speed control, and brake sensor circuits. The brake lamp circuit is open until the plunger is depressed. The speed control and brake sensor circuits are closed until the plunger is depressed. For more information on cruise control, see appropriate CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEMS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
