Rear Brake Shoes: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The rear drum brakes are equipped with self-adjusting mechanism. Under normal circumstances, the only time adjustment is required is when the shoes are replaced, removed, or when one or both drums are replaced. Adjustment can be made with a standard brake gauge or with adjusting tool. Adjustment is performed with complete brake assembly installed on the backing plate.
