Monitored & Set Conditions

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

EVAP purge flow is monitored at cold start, engine running and the small leak test has been passed. DTC will set when PCM activates the EVAP purge solenoid and gradually increases to maximum flow. During flow, the PCM looks for the Natural Vacuum Leak Detection (NVLD) switch to close. If the PCM does not see the NVLD switch close at maximum flow an error is detected. This is a two trip fault.
