Removal (3.9L & 5.9L)

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Position drain pan under the Transmission Range (TR) sensor located on driver's side of transmission case, near shift linkage. See Fig 1. Move shift lever to manual LOW position.
  2. Disconnect harness connector from TR sensor. Remove the two screws holding TR sensor to mounting bracket. Remove TR sensor from mounting bracket by pulling straight out. Using Adapter (8581), remove mounting bracket from transmission. See Fig 2.
