Oxygen (O2) Sensors: Removal

WARNING:
The exhaust manifold, exhaust pipes and catalytic converter become very hot during engine operation. Allow engine to cool before removing O2 sensor.
CAUTION:
Never apply any type of grease to the oxygen sensor electrical connector, or attempt any soldering of the sensor wiring harness.
NOTE:
Downstream oxygen sensor may also be referred to as post-catalyst oxygen sensor. Upstream oxygen sensor may also be referred to as pre-catalyst oxygen sensor.
Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect electrical connector from O2 sensor(s). When disconnecting the sensor electrical connector, do not pull directly on wire going into sensor. Using Oxygen Sensor Socket (YA8875), remove O2 sensor.
