Fuel Pump Module: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Fuel tank must be removed for servicing of fuel pump module. Drain fuel from fuel tank and remove fuel tank. See FUEL TANK .
  2. Ensure area around fuel pump module is clean so contaminants don't enter tank. The fuel pump module lock nut is threaded onto fuel tank. Using Fuel Pump Module Lock Nut Spanner Wrench (6856), remove fuel pump module lock nut. See Figure. Remove fuel pump module with rubber gasket from fuel tank.
CAUTION: When fuel pump module is removed from fuel tank, rubber gasket must be replaced. DO NOT reuse rubber gasket.
