Fuel Pump Inlet Strainer: Removal

  1. Remove fuel tank. See FUEL TANK . Remove fuel pump module. See FUEL PUMP MODULE .
  2. On 2-door models, spread locking tabs on bottom of fuel pump module and remove fuel pump inlet strainer from fuel pump module. See Fig 1. On 4-door models, use 2 screwdrivers to unsnap fuel pump inlet strainer from bottom of fuel pump module. See Fig 2. On all models, remove "O" ring from end of fuel pump module if "O"ring was not removed with fuel pump inlet strainer. Clean bottom of pump module.
