Rear Anti-Lock Brake System Wheel Speed Sensor
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The vehicle speed and distance traveled are determined by rear wheel speed sensor. Rear wheel speed sensor is mounted on top of rear axle housing, above the ring gear. The rear ABS wheel speed sensor provides a wheel speed signal to the Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB). The CAB then sends an input signal to indicate vehicle speed and distance traveled through PCI Bus circuits to the powertrain control module.
