Evaporative Emissions: ORVR: Description

The ORVR (On-Board Refueling Vapor Recovery) system consists of a unique fuel tank, flow management valve (Fig 1 ), fluid control valve, one-way check valve and vapor canister.

To quickly identify a vehicle with the ORVR system, remove the fuel fill cap. If the threads on the fuel fill tube are plastic, the vehicle is not equipped with ORVR. If the threads are stainless steel, the vehicle is equipped with ORVR.
