Liquid Line: Installation

  1. Position the liquid line into the engine compartment.
  2. Remove the tape or plugs from the liquid line spring-lock coupler fitting and the evaporator inlet tube.
  3. Lubricate a new rubber O-ring seal with clean refrigerant oil and install it on the liquid line fitting. Use only the specified O-ring as it is made of a special material for the R-134a system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  4. Connect the liquid line to the evaporator inlet tube (Refer to INSTALLATION  ).

  5. Install the secondary retaining clip onto the spring-lock coupler that secures the liquid line to the evaporator inlet tube.
  6. Install the liquid line into the retaining clip on the right inner fenderwellt
  7. Remove the tape or plugs from the liquid line fitting and condenser outlet port.
  8. Lubricate a new rubber O-ring seal with clean refrigerant oil and install it on the liquid line fitting. Use only the specified O-ring as it is made of a special material for the R-134a system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  9. Connect the liquid line to the condenser outlet port.
  10. Install the nut that secures the liquid line fitting to the condenser outlet port. Tighten the nut to 22 N.m (16 ft. lbs.).
  11. Position the radiator and condenser air seal to the right side radiator support and install the four push-pin retainers.
  12. If equipped, install the vehicle speed control servo to right inner fenderwell (Refer to SERVO ).
  13. Install the engine air filter housing .
  14. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  15. Evacuate the refrigerant system (Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE  ).
  16. Charge the refrigerant system (Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE  ).
