Section 100 (HVAC - Plumbing): Accumulator: Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The accumulator is mounted in the engine compartment between the evaporator outlet and the compressor inlet port. The low side service port is integral to the accumulator. An integral bracket is used to secure the accumulator to the dash panel bracket.

The accumulator cannot be repaired and, if faulty or damaged, it must be replaced. The rubber O-rings and the low side service port valve core are available for service replacement.
