A/C Discharge Line: Removal

WARNING:
REVIEW THE WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS IN THE FRONT OF THIS SECTION BEFORE PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING OPERATION (Refer to CAUTION
).
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system (Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - REFRIGERANT RECOVERY ).
- Remove the four push-pin retainers that secure the radiator and condenser air seal to the right side radiator support and remove the air seal from the engine compartment.
- Remove the nut that secures the discharge line fitting to the condenser inlet port ( Figure ).
- Disconnect the A/C discharge line from the A/C condenser.
- Remove the O-ring seal from the discharge line fitting and discard.
- Install plugs in, or tape over the opened discharge line fitting and condenser inlet port.
- Remove the nut that secures the A/C discharge line to the compressor outlet port.
- Disconnect the A/C discharge line from the A/C compressor.
- Remove the O-ring seal from the discharge line fitting and discard.
- Install plugs in, or tape over the opened discharge line fitting and the compressor outlet port.
- Remove the A/C discharge line from the engine compartment.
