- Disconnect DRBIII from DLC. Measure voltage between ground and DLC connector terminal No. 16 (fused B+ circuit; Pink wire). See Fig 1 . If voltage is more than 11 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 11 volts, repair open in Pink wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Measure resistance between ground and DLC connector terminals No. 4 (ground circuit; Black/Light Green wire) and No. 5 (ground circuit; Orange/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms in both circuits, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in appropriate wire.
- Substitute an known good DRBIII cable. If DRBIII is operational, replace original DRBIII cable. If DRBIII is not operational, go to next step.
- Substitute an known good DRBIII tester. If DRBIII is operational, repair original DRBIII tester. If DRBIII is not operational, test is complete. Diagnose vehicle communication system.
