Test 24A: No Left SIACM Message

NOTE: Prior to performing any air bag system test, go to PRETEST INSPECTION & DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  under DIAGNOSTICS. Perform TEST VER-1: AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST  after all repairs unless otherwise directed.
  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using DRBIII, determine if left Side Impact Air Bag Control Module (SIACM) status message an active or stored Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). If left SIACM status message is an active DTC, go to next step. If left SIACM status message is a stored DTC, go to TEST 1B: REPAIRING STORED CODES  .
  2. On DRBIII, select PASSIVE RESTRAINTS, SIDE AIR BAG and then LEFT SIDE AIR BAG. If DRBIII displays NO RESPONSE or BUS +/- SIGNAL OPEN, go to VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS  and diagnose corresponding symptom. If DRBIII does not display NO RESPONSE or BUS +/- SIGNAL OPEN, and no other malfunctions are detected, replace Air Bag Control Module (ACM).
