Seat Belt PRETENSIONER

Seat belt pretensioner is integral with the front seat belt retractor and is mounted on the B-pillar near the floor panel. Seat belt pretensioner contains a squib and pyrotechnic actuator that is triggered simultaneously with air bags in the event of a front end collision of sufficient force. Upon deployment, the seat belt pretensioner rapidly retracts seat belt, restricting occupants forward motion.
