Passenger-Side Air Bag On-Off Switch

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Durango and 2002 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Dakota 2-door models are equipped with a passenger-side air bag on-off switch. Passenger-side air bag on-off switch is located near center of instrument panel. Passenger-side air bag on-off switch allows passenger-side air bag to be disarmed when certain child restraint devices are being used, or a small child is seated in right front seating position.

Passenger-side air bag on-off switch is equipped with a non-coded key cylinder. Switch position can only be changed using ignition key. When ignition switch is in OFF position, and passenger's side air is disarmed, a light emitting diode illuminates an indicator light on face plate of passenger-side air bag on-off switch.
