Air Bag Warning Light

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Durango and 2002 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Whenever ignition switch is in RUN or START position, AIR BAG warning light in instrument cluster will illuminate for 6-8 seconds and turn off. This signifies Air Bag Control Module (ACM) and Side Impact Air Bag Control Modules (SIACMs) has checked SRS and found that it is functioning properly. If AIR BAG warning light illuminates for more than 6-8 seconds, stays on all the time or does not come on, a system malfunction exists and Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be stored in ACM memory.
