Air Bag Control Module (ACM)
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Durango and 2002 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The Air Bag Control Module (ACM) is mounted to the floor panel transmission tunnel, beneath instrument panel. ACM contains Impact sensor, energy reserve capacitor and diagnostic microprocessor. ACM determines direction and severity of impact, deploys air bags and monitors system readiness. In the event of a system fault, ACM lights AIR BAG warning light and records system DTCs. DTCs and information regarding frequency and elapsed time of faults are stored in memory until fault is resolved and memory is cleared.
