Proportioning Valves: Installation

  1. Lubricate the "O" ring on the proportioning valve.
  2. Install the proportioning valve in its master cylinder port. Tighten the proportioning valve. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Connect the brake tube to the proportioning valve. See Figure or Figure . Tighten the brake tube. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. NOTE: Reinstall the air cleaner cover and hose if earlier removed to gain more access to the lower (left rear) proportioning valve.
  5. Remove the brake pedal holder.
  6. Bleed the affected brake line. See BLEEDING PROCEDURES  under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM.
  7. Road test the vehicle to ensure the proper operation of the brakes.
