Removal (3.5L)

- The throttle body is located in the intake manifold. See Fig 1. Disconnect negative battery cable at remote battery terminal on passenger's side strut tower. Both windshield wiper arms and cowl assembly must be removed for access to throttle body.
- Ensure windshield wipers are in park position. Lift windshield wiper blade away from windshield. Pry upward on windshield wiper arm retaining nut cap and remove cap. Remove windshield wiper arm retaining nut. Mark position of wiper arm on wiper shaft for installation if necessary. Remove windshield wiper arm. Repeat procedure on remaining windshield wiper arm.
- Remove cowl assembly for access to throttle body. Disconnect air intake hose from throttle body. Remove throttle cable mounting bracket. Disconnect electrical connectors and vacuum hoses at throttle body.
- Remove 3 throttle body bolts. Hold throttle lever on throttle body in full throttle and disconnect throttle cable and speed control cable from throttle body. Remove throttle body bracket from bottom of throttle body. Remove throttle body and gasket. Clean mating surfaces.
