Removal (Models With ABS)

  1. Using brake pedal depressor, move brake pedal downward and lock brake pedal to a position past the first one inch of brake pedal travel. This prevents brake fluid from draining from master cylinder when brakelines are disconnected from proportioning valve.
  2. CAUTION: Note location of proportioning valve-to-frame rail bolts for installation reference. Bolts must only be installed in 2 front holes on mounting bracket for proportioning valve.
  3. Raise and support vehicle. Clean area around brakelines at proportioning valve located on outside of driver's side frame rail, in front of rear axle. Disconnect brakelines from proportioning valve. Remove proportioning valve-to-frame rail bolts. Remove proportioning valve.
