Timing Belt: Removal

Disconnect battery. Remove alternator, A/C compressor and mounting brackets and position aside. Remove water pump pulley and crankshaft pulley.
On FWD van, raise vehicle and remove right inner fender splash shield. Remove upper and lower timing belt cover. See Fig 1. Position jack under engine. Remove right engine mounting bolt and raise engine slightly. Loosen timing belt tensioner and remove timing belt.

NOTE: Do not allow oil, solvent or coolant to contact timing belt.
