Dry Lash

Dry lash is amount of clearance between base circle of an installed camshaft and rocker arm pad, with adjuster completely collapsed. Remove and drain adjuster of engine oil to perform check. Install adjuster completely collapsed.

Using feeler gauge, clearance between base circle and rocker arm pad should be .024-.060" (.62-1.52 mm). If not within specification, check wear and replace as required. Refill adjusters with engine oil before final assembly and allow 10 minutes for bleed down before rotating camshaft.
