Engine Identification

Engine may be identified from the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) stamped on a plate on top of instrument panel at lower left of windshield. The VIN number code also appears as part of a production or unit number stamped on left rear of cylinder block, below cylinder head. The VIN number contains 17 characters. The eighth character identifies the engine and the tenth character establishes the model year.
