Oil Pressure Gauge

  1. Remove connector from oil pressure sending unit. Turn ignition switch to "ON" position. Ground sending unit lead wire and note gauge reading. Oil pressure gauge should have maximum reading.
  2. Wiring continuity and voltage to oil pressure gauge must be checked if gauge reading is not obtained. Replace gauge if continuity and voltage exist.
  3. Oil pressure should be checked with direct reading gauge to ensure proper oil pressure is available. Replace sending unit if proper gauge reading was obtained while grounding lead wire and oil pressure is correct.
