Brake Warning Light
- Brake warning light activates when ignition is on with parking brake applied. Warning light will activate when one of 2 service brake systems fails, or when ignition switch is in the "START" position.
- System can be tested by applying parking brake and turning ignition switch to "ON" position. Warning light should activate. Inspect bulb, socket, and wiring if warning light does not operate.
- Ensure voltage is available at parking brake switch. Replace parking brake switch if other components are good.
- Raise vehicle on hoist. Have assistant observe warning light while depressing brake pedal. Open bleeder screw on wheel cylinder.
- Light should activate when bleeder screw is opened. Inspect bulb, socket, wiring and brake line switch or proportioning valve if light does not activate.
