Disassembly & Assembly

  1. Remove caliper. To prevent damage to piston when removing it, place a clean shop towel between piston and caliper.
    CAUTION: When applying air pressure at caliper inlet port, do not place fingers in front of piston. The piston will pop out of its bore with enough force to cause serious injury.
  2. Apply unlubricated compressed air to caliper inlet port, and progressively increase air pressure until piston is forced out of bore. Remove and discard outer dust seal. Remove inner seal and discard it. Do not scratch piston bore or seal groove when removing inner seal. See Figure. Remove bleeder valve and dust cover. See Figure.
