Steering Wheel: Removal

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove driver-side air bag module. See AIR BAG MODULES . Remove steering wheel nut and retaining clip. Place mark on steering shaft and steering wheel to ensure proper alignment during installation. Remove steering wheel using Steering Wheel Puller (KM-210-A).
