Cylinder To Front Head D-Ring: Removal

  1. Recover refrigerant. Remove compressor. Drain oil from compressor into a suitable container. Measure and record amount of oil drained from compressor. Discard all used oil. Remove clutch plate and hub assembly. Remove clutch rotor and bearing. Remove clutch coil. Remove and discard shaft seal parts. Remove compressor through-bolts.
  2. Remove and discard gaskets. Using a wooden block and a plastic-headed hammer, tap compressor housing at mounting locations to disengage housing from compressor cylinder.
    NOTE: Note assembly sequence of thrust washer and bearing for ease of assembly.
  3. Remove thrust washer and bearing. Remove and discard compressor housing-to-cylinder O-ring.
