Headlamp Aiming: Preparation
- Place vehicle so all 4 tires are on a level surface which is level all the way to wall or other flat surface.
- Place vehicle so it is perpendicular to wall or other flat surface.
- Place vehicle so headlamps are 25 ft. (7.6m) away from a light colored wall or other flat surface in a dark area. See Fig 1 .
- Open and support hood.
- Find low beam center mark on lens of lamps and measure height from ground to low beam center mark. See Fig 2 .
- The low beam center mark is on surface of lens more outer than high beam center mark.
- Mark height of low beam center (HV point) on wall or other flat surface. See Fig 3 .
- Mark a horizontal line and vertical line on wall or other flat surface at height of low beam center mark.
- Mark an angle parallel with horizontal line and vertical line at 4" (100mm) intervals on wall or other flat surface.
NOTE:
Headlamp aiming should be done with low beam lamp. The high beam lamps will be correctly aimed if low beam lamps are aimed properly.
