Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
1. Make sure that one of the front doors are open when performing the diagnostic test.
2. Turn the ignition on.
3. With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on repair order.
4. With the scan tool, perform an ECU reset to the Radio, and then erase DTCs.
5. Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
6. Turn the ignition on.
7. Turn the Radio on.
8. With the scan tool, read Radio DTCs.
  Is the DTC active?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Test Complete. The condition(s) that originally set this DTC are no longer present. Inspect the antenna cable connections between the Radio to the GPS antenna.
CHECK THE ANTENNA CONNECTION
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Antenna connector at the back of the Radio.
3. Inspect the Antenna connections.
  Are the Antenna connections clean and secure?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 3
  No
  - Repair the Antenna connection as needed.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK THE ANTENNA CONNECTION
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Satellite Radio Antenna connector at the rear of the Radio.
3. Inspect the Satellite Radio Antenna connection.
  Was the antenna connection clean and secure?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 4
  No
  - Clean and secure the antenna connection as necessary.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK THE ANTENNA AND CABLE
1. Connect the Radio Diagnostic Tool
  (special tool #9977-6-13, Adapter, Long RF RG-58 Fakra)
  
  (special tool #9977-6-SATXM, Antenna, Satellite/Sirus XM)
2. Make sure one of the front doors is still open.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. With the scan tool, perform an ECU reset to the Radio, and then erase DTCs.
5. Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
6. Turn the ignition on.
7. Turn the Radio on.
8. Using the scan tool, read Radio DTCs.
  NOTE:
  While using the 9977-6-SATXM test antenna the GPS reception will not be available and GPS faults may occur. The 9977-6-SATXM test tool will only enable satellite radio reception to work. For GPS reception concerns use test antenna 9977-6-GPS-GLO.
  
  Is the DTC active?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the Satellite Radio in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 5
TEST THE SATELLITE ANTENNA CABLE
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the vehicles Satellite Antenna cable at the Satellite Antenna.
  NOTE:
  Special tool 9977-6-13 should still be connected at the back of the Radio during this test.
3. Connect the
  (special tool #9977-6-13, Adapter, Long RF RG-58 Fakra)
4. Make sure one of the front doors is still open.
5. Turn the ignition on.
6. With the scan tool, perform an ECU reset to the Radio, and then erase DTCs.
7. Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
8. Turn the ignition on.
9. Turn the Radio on.
10. Using the scan tool, read Radio DTCs.
  Is the DTC active?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the Satellite Antenna in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Use the Radio Diagnostic Tool (special tool #9977-6-13, Adapter, Long RF RG-58 Fakra) to locate the open circuit, repair or replace the Satellite Antenna cable as necessary.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
