Diagnostic Test

CHECK THE ANTENNA CONNECTION
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Satellite Radio Antenna connector at the rear of the Radio.
3. Inspect the Satellite Radio Antenna connection.
  Was the antenna connection clean and secure?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Clean and secure the antenna connection as necessary.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

CHECK THE ANTENNA AND CABLE

Connect the Radio Diagnostic Tool (special tool #9977-6-SAT, Antenna)to the Satellite Antenna connection on the back of the Radio.

Make sure one of the front doors is still open.
With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
Turn the ignition on.
Turn the Radio on.
With the scan tool, read Radio DTCs.
NOTE:
While using the 9977-6-SAT test antenna the GPS reception will not be available and GPS faults may occur. The 9977-6-SAT test tool will only enable satellite radio reception to work. For GPS reception concerns use test antenna 9977-6-GPS-GLO.

Does the scan tool display: B156B-13-SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA-CIRCUIT OPEN?

Yes
- Replace the Radio in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3

TEST THE SATELLITE ANTENNA CABLE

Disconnect the Satellite Antenna cable at the Satellite Antenna.

Connect the appropriate Radio Diagnostic Tool to the Satellite Antenna cable at the back of the Radio.

Connect the appropriate Radio Diagnostic Tool to the Satellite Antenna cable at the Satellite Antenna.

Measure the Resistance across the terminals on the tool.

Is the resistance above 52.5 Ohms?

Yes

Use the Radio Diagnostic Tool (special tool #9977-6, Kit, Radio Antenna Diagnostic) to locate the open circuit. Repair or replace the Satellite Antenna cable as necessary.

Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

Replace the Satellite Antenna in accordance with the Service Information.
Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
