Gauge Pack, Instrument Cluster: Description
The gauge pack found within the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) for this vehicle houses 2 analog gauges that are each controlled by the IPC electronic circuitry.
Gauge illumination is provided by dimmer controlled Light Emitting Diode (LED) units soldered onto the IPC circuit board. The gauge pack is an integral part of the IPC unit. If any gauge is damaged or ineffective, the entire IPC must be replaced with a new unit.
The IPC includes the following analog gauges:
- Speedometer (2)
- Tachometer (1)
SPEEDOMETER (2)
The standard equipment speedometer is the gauge located on the right side of the IPC. The speedometer consists of a movable gauge needle or pointer controlled by the IPC circuitry and reads clockwise from left-to-right either from 0 to an upper numerical value that varies by model in either miles-per-hour or kilometers-per-hour, depending upon the market destination. MPH or KM/H text appears on the cluster overlay.
TACHOMETER (1)
The standard equipment tachometer is the gauge located on the left side of the IPC. The tachometer consists of a movable gauge needle or pointer controlled by the IPC circuitry and a gauge dial face that reads clockwise from left-to-right. The text RPM X 1000 is imprinted on the cluster overlay near the bottom of the gauge scale and identifies that each number on the tachometer scale is to be multiplied by 1000 Revolutions-Per-Minute
The SRT Hellcat IPC incorporates a Boost Pressure Gauge into the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) to inform the driver of the amount of boost being created by the supercharger on the 6.2L engine. The boost pressure gauge will appear in the center of the EVIC at engine startup by default.
