Panel, Door Trim: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Using a small pick tool, pull out on interior latch handle and remove the trim plate (1).

  3. Pull out on interior latch handle and remove the screw (1).

  4. Using a small pick tool, remove the trim plate (1) just behind the armrest.

  5. Remove the screw (1) just behind the armrest.
  6. Remove and disconnect the power window switch, REMOVAL .

  7. Remove the push pin fastener (1) near the front of the door.

  8. Remove the screw/bumper (1) from the rear of the door trim.

  9. Remove the latch handle assembly (2) from the door.
    NOTE:

    If desired, the latch handle assembly can be left installed to the door trim panel. If left installed, the technician will need to detach the latch cable at the handle before the door trim panel is fully removed.

  10. Using (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) or equivalent, disengage the door trim snap retainers (4) and slightly reposition the trim panel (3).
  11. Raise the trim panel (3) up and peel the belt molding off from the flange. Do not fully remove at this time.  .

  12. Disconnect the harness (1) from the fuel door release switch (2).
  13. Remove the door trim panel.
  14. If necessary, use a flat bladed screwdriver to disengage the belt molding clips from the trim panel.
