Media Hub: Description
The media hub (2) is located in the rearward surface of the center console rear storage bin (1). The media hub is a centralized media connection point in the vehicle that contains:
- a 3.5 millimeter auxiliary audio input jack (4)
- two powered Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports (3)
The media hub USB ports provide 5 volts at 2.5 amps to charge the media device battery and for 60 minutes after the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position. The media hub is illuminated and dimmable, and incorporates the Apple Carplay and Google Android Auto features for the audio system.
Only the molded plastic media hub faceplate and the connection ports are visible within the storage bin. The media hub housing, wiring and connections to the vehicle electrical system are concealed on the underside of the console. Four latch tabs integral to the media hub housing secure the unit on the back side of the mounting hole in the console rear storage bin.
The media hub cannot be adjusted or repaired. If ineffective or damaged it must be replaced.
