Audio/Video/Entertainment/Connectivity (Service Information): Amplifier: Description
An audio power amplifier is included with certain optional speaker packages. The amplifier is available in either 8 channels (1) (Premium I Sound Group - 6 speakers - 276 watts), 12 channels (1) (Premium II Sound Group - 10 speakers - 506 watts) or 12 channels (2) (Premium III Sound Group - 19 speakers - Harman Kardon Greenedge 825 watts), each of which is specific to the sound system installed in the vehicle.
The amplifier is secured by three screws to a vertical member of the instrument panel structural support to the left of the steering column opening under the instrument panel. Two integral connector receptacles (4) connect the Premium I, Premium II amplifiers while three integral connector receptacles (3) connect the Premium III amplifier to the vehicle electrical system through dedicated take outs and connectors of the body wire harness.
The amplifier cannot be adjusted or repaired. If damaged or ineffective, the amplifier must be replaced.
