Lamp, Center High Mounted Stop: Removal

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the trim cover from the inside of the deck lid.
3. From the inside of the deck lid, disconnect the body wire harness connector (1) from the connector receptacle integral to the back of the Center High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) housing (2).
4. If the vehicle is so equipped, disconnect the body wire harness connector (3) from the Passive Entry (PE) deck lid release switch pigtail wire connector on the back of the CHMSL housing.
5. If the vehicle is so equipped, disconnect the body wire harness connector (4) from the rear view camera connector receptacle on the back of the CHMSL housing.

6. Remove the fasteners (3) that secure the CHMSL (2) to the deck lid (1) inner reinforcement.
7. Push the integral latch tabs on both CHMSL mounts inboard far enough to enable pulling the CHMSL free from the deck lid inner reinforcement mounting hole.
8. Remove the CHMSL from the vehicle.
